The Warehouse On Sherman Is Coming Down. That's Where Half These Videos Were Shot.
Demolition starts in September. It is confirmed and it is not being appealed.
The warehouse on Sherman Ave has been the default location for local video shoots since at least 2006, for the simple reason that nobody ever told anybody to leave. At least nine videos we hosted were filmed inside or outside that building. There are more we never hosted.
What We Found
We went back through the archive. "Mob Ties" is the best known. "Sherman Ave" was the last one shot there, in March, and nobody knew at the time that it would be the last one.
B. Stacks wrote most of The Haughville Tapes sitting on the steps outside. He did not know about the demolition when he wrote it and found out from this thread.
"Didn't think it'd matter. It matters." — B. Stacks
Post Your Footage
If you shot anything in that building — a video, a rehearsal, a phone clip, anything — post it in the thread. I am serious about this. In three months the building is a parking lot and the footage is the only thing left.
That is not sentimentality. Nobody is writing this scene down except us, and buildings are part of it.
